Our Story

Den & Bone started from a simple idea. Your dog is already part of how you live. Their things should be too.

Walk into most pet stores and you find a separate world. Molded plastic, loud prints, logos on everything, built to be noticed on a shelf rather than lived with in a room. So the bed goes behind a chair. The crate goes in the garage. And the leash hangs by the door, where you cannot hide it at all.

We think that is a strange compromise to accept in a house you spent years getting right.

How we choose

One test, every time. Would you have picked it for yourself?

That question does more work than it looks like. It rules out anything flimsy, because you would not buy a chair that wobbles. It rules out anything that cannot be cleaned, because you would not buy a sofa with a cover you cannot wash. And it rules out anything that only looks acceptable because a dog is going to use it.

In practice a piece has to do three things. Take daily use. Wash without falling apart. Sit in a room without shouting. Most pet gear fails the third one, and that is the one people quietly care about most.

Why the range is small

We would rather stock a few things we believe in than fill a page. When something new passes the test, it goes up. When it does not, it does not, even if it would sell.

Everything ships free from our US warehouses, and if a piece is not right for your dog or your room, you have thirty days to send it back.

The name

Every dog needs a den, a spot that is genuinely theirs. And every good day ends with a bone. That is the whole brief.
