Premium Leather Dog Collar

The Den & Bone premium, full-grain leather collar. Simple metal buckle, no logos or patterns, nothing to catch on furniture. Leather softens with wear and takes on the shape of your dog's neck, so the collar that feels stiff in week one feels broken in by month two.

Three sizes cover most breeds. Small fits a 9 to 13 inch neck at 0.6 inches wide, sized for Yorkies, Chihuahuas, and toy breeds. Medium fits 11 to 15 inches at 0.8 inches wide, the range most Shiba Inus, Beagles, and Cocker Spaniels land in. Large fits 13.4 to 17.3 inches at 1 inch wide, built for Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds. Measure around the base of the neck with a soft tape and leave two fingers of slack, then pick the size where your measurement sits mid-range rather than at either end.

A welded D-ring sits at the buckle for a leash and ID tags, and the edges are finished so they will not chafe short-coated dogs on long walks. Condition the leather occasionally with a balm and let it dry fully after wet walks. Check the fit regularly on growing dogs and inspect the buckle and stitching before each outing. Remove the collar during crate time and unsupervised play, since collars can catch on crates, fences, and other dogs' teeth. A collar is not a substitute for a harness on strong pullers.
