Nordic Bentwood Dog Sofa - Black

Black velvet and warm walnut is the combination that makes the Den & Bone Nordic Bentwood Dog Sofa read as furniture instead of pet gear. The cushion sits in deep black that swallows fur, dust, and the shadow of every muddy paw print between cleanings, while the bentwood walnut frame and solid wood legs carry the grain and warmth. Against a light floor it anchors a corner; against a dark one it disappears.

Elevation is the functional argument. Lifting the bed off the ground keeps your dog out of floor-level drafts and off cold tile in winter, and it gives senior or arthritic dogs a surface they can step onto rather than lowering themselves the full distance down. At 38.5 by 27 inches and 11 inches tall, it gives medium and large breeds room to stretch out lengthwise, and the curved bentwood frame doubles as a headrest. It weighs 32 pounds assembled, so it stays planted on hardwood. When it needs cleaning, the velvet cover pulls off and goes into the washing machine.

Assembly runs a few minutes: legs thread into the frame, cushion drops in. Wash the cover cold and air dry it to protect the pile, and retighten the leg fittings every few months. Supervise dogs that chew furniture, since solid legs and bentwood can splinter when gnawed, and stop using the sofa if a joint loosens or the frame cracks. Keep it on level flooring and discourage jumping on or off from height.
